When Does the Next Course Start?
Our next course starts in January 2020, 10am-5pm, and will run one weekend a month for 10 months.
Where is the Course Held?
The course is held in Lough Lannagh Village, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, and directions can be found on our Location Page.
What Qualifications Do I Need In Order to Apply?
You do not need any particular qualifications or prior experience in order to study our Professional Practitioner Course.
How Much Is The Course?
In total, the course is €2700 which includes extensive course notes, text books, guest speakers, audio support, and the Award Winning Easy Quit Smoking Program. The course cost can be spread over 10 monthly payments; a 10% deposit secures you a place.
What Qualifications Do I Gain Upon Successful Completion?
After module 5, you gain a Certificate in Hypnosis upon successful completion of the mid-way, take-home exam, which you are given 4 weeks to complete. After the final module, you gain a Diploma in Hypnotherapy with Psychotherapy, and a Diploma in Hypnoanalysis, upon successful completion of the final, take-home exam, which you are given 4 weeks to complete.
Will There Be Homework?
Yes, each month you are given an assignment to carry out, which you will easily do. This is read through by your tutor to see how well you are taking in all the material covered.
Are There Exams to Take?
Yes - you will be given a take-home mid-way exam to do after Module 5, which you are given 4 weeks to complete. It will show your tutor how well you are doing and what areas you might need to read more about. Upon successful completion, you will gain a Certificate of Studies. On the final day of classroom tuition, you are given a Final Exam, which you also have 4 weeks to complete, and upon successful completion, you will receive your diplomas.
Is There A Graduation?
Yes, the graduation takes place a few weeks after the course, and you will be given your certificates. It is not compulsory, and you can have your certificates posted to you.
Can I Stay Overnight at the Venue?
There is accommodation close to the venue, as well as self-catering rooms on-site.
Is the Course Taught Anywhere Else in Ireland?
We are the only training school who teach the E.I.C.H. Professional Practitioner Course in Ireland. It is also taught in schools in the UK, Cyprus, Italy, and Dubai.
Who Wrote and Devised the Course Material?
The course was written by well-known UK therapist and author of over 30 books, Terence Watts. Terence is the Principal of the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis, and is the creator of BWRT (BrainWorking Recursive Therapy), amongst many other therapies. Who Delivers the Course in Ireland?
The course is delivered by Laura McDonald, a practicing Clinical Hypnotherapist who trained in the UK in 2004. Laura sees clients for appointments in Kachina, Castlebar. Laura also runs the only Ireland-based BWRT training, which is available to those qualified and practicing in a mind-based therapy, e.g. psychology, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, and so on. Is the Course Recognised or Accredited?
Our course is recognised by APHP, NRPC, GHSC, IHR, AHSM, UKCHO, CRSST, BAThH, CHPA. It meets the minimum standards required by these organisations to be listed on their respective websites as an approved training school. You can find their websites on our designated page here.
How Many Students Are In The Group?
We can take up to 9 students per course - it is a nice, small group where students get opportunity to talk with their tutor individually as well as part of a group.
Will I Be Able to Go Into Practice? What Will I Be Able to Work With?
Yes, you will be able to go into practice - in fact, you can gain insurance and begin working after your mid-way exam, with issues such as confidence, smoking, and self-esteem. After successful completion of your final exam, you will be able to work with smoking cessation, habits, anxiety, stress, fears and phobias, weight management, emotional issues, motivation, and more.
